Anglers come to Willoughby for burbot, lake trout, rainbow trout, and yellow perch, plus landlocked Atlantic salmon and rainbow smelt in season — a cold, deep lake that rewards patience.
Birds & Wildlife
High above the water, the sheer cliffs of Mount Pisgah are a known nesting area for peregrine falcons — keep an eye on Pulpit Rock, a landmark along the hiking trail, for a glimpse of North America's fastest bird. The same cliffs shelter alpine plant species found almost nowhere else in Vermont.
